McLaren is re-entering the competitive supercar market with their impressive P1 model. The stylish new car was recently reviewed by the team at Top Speed and they seemed to like what they saw. They are not trying to reclaim their ’98 title of “world’s fastest production road car” through, the “the aim is not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed but to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit,” said McLaren.
The exterior is brilliantly designed to provide optimal aerodynamics at every angle. According to the review, “The car’s aerodynamic is being optimized by those two flaps mounted under the body ahead of the front wheels. These are also actively controlled, and change angle automatically to optimize performance, boosting downforce and aero efficiency, increasing both speed and driver confidence.” The McLaren P1 can go from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3 seconds and from 0 to 200 mph in just under 7. Overall, this is certainly an impressive car that will do more than just take you for a ride.
